Farm ID 3567

  1. Farm ID 3567
Property Description:

We began bringing this abandoned piece of land into production in 2018. After reclaiming the 10 acres from encroaching brambles, forest and removing dead and diseased fruit trees, we worked to improve soil health and fertility with cover cropping. We are working to diversify the lands production to include fruit bearing trees, bramble fruits, medicinal and beneficial perennials and diversified vegetable production. The vision is for the land to serve as an incubator for agricultural endeavors where many farmers can work in synergy either together or on their own projects to make a sustainable living and create a beautiful space to share with each other and the community at large. The farm currently hosts 4 ag based entrepreneurs and is open to welcoming more who share a desire to work with the Earth and to grow community as well.

Current property assets include: clean and ample well water, easy access to irrigation and potential use of irrigation materials and equipment, level fields, clean and relatively stone free organic matter rich soils, access to some tools and equipment such as tractor and implements, some forest edge habitat but mostly open & sunny fields.

Long term goals include no-till, human scale production with a leaning toward plant diversity, balanced ecosystems and permaculture, in service to education and community building efforts.

Activities not allowed on the land: Conventional farming techniques. No toxic sprays or additives.
