The Brawn farmstead was featured in "DEXTER: SPIRIT OF AN AGE VOL. II, Our Neighborly Neighbors (Chapter 3: The Northeast Section: Main Street Hill, 63-67.)" by Frank Spizuoco and Carol Fuertado (Dexter Historical Society: 1999). This is my ancestral home - an 1820s farmstead, in the family since 1903. Mostly wooded now -- would have to be cleared--but still arable. There are heirloom strains of apples on the property: High Tops, Yellow Transparent, and a red variety in the outer field, though the name escapes me. Town water and electric available. The land owner would like to see the old farmstead become a working farm again. It's a beautiful piece of property. It is a 1/2 mile (10 minute walk) to town.
