Here is an introduction of our family:
We are the Smiths: Tyler and Lori and our five sons, Elijah, Josiah, Andrew, Caleb, and Matthias. Tyler and Lori both grew up in central Maine in farming communities and have been working for the past few years to be in a position to start a farm. We’ve had a small homestead farm with dairy goats, chickens, sheep, and ducks, but really want to expand into cattle, syrup, and timber management. We farm using natural permaculture practices and have been searching for a place for our five sons to learn and implement farming practices to feed, educate, and serve our local community. We have a vision of building a multifaceted farmland with trails for walking and mountain biking, as well as livestock, gardens, and woodworking shops.
Our sons all have various interests in farming and outdoor recreation including beekeeping, timber framing, and blacksmithing. Elijah (18) currently works as an electrician’s helper with plans to farm and build. Josiah (16) is studying and pursuing a career in engineering and design, while Andrew (15) wants to become a game warden, park ranger, and farmer. Caleb (13) and Matthias (10) both enjoy working with animals and love to build forts in the woods, hiking, biking, and camping.
We both grew up in farming communities, but have gained most of our experience running a small gentleman's farm on 12 acres. We had dairy goats, honeybees, chickens, ducks, sheep, apple trees, blueberry bushes, and a large garden.

We have tools, a small tractor, and money set aside for other pieces of equipment that may be needed. We'd love to have a wood mill and firewood processor for managing a woodlot. We will need fencing, gates, and building materials to start the infrastructure for pasture animals and poultry as well as hay equipment or a means to hay fields.

A small family owned and operated farm producing grass fed beef, poultry, honey, syrup, and blueberries. The farm focuses on both production of goods and services through agri-tourism activities such as u-pick blueberries, social events, and recreational use of the land with walking, biking, and nordic skiing trails.
Build community by connecting food production and outdoor recreation. Create a self-sustaining agricultural market for the local community’s health through holistically focused food production. Through natural permaculture methods, we will focus on producing high quality animal products such as beef, chicken, and honey amongst all natural fruits and vegetables.
