Here is a summary of the vision for my farming future and/or business plan:

Since I won't be completing my degree and looking seriously for land until Spring/Summer 2023, I do not currently have a formal business plan. However, my general business plan is to start out with a small variety of annual, heirloom row crops that can be market-ready in the first year. If I rent for a couple of years first I will focus on row crops and direct-market sales until I'm ready to buy. Once I've purchased land I want to practice agroforestry by intercropping fruit and nut trees with livestock (Toulouse geese and an heirloom sheep breed for fiber and milk products), continuing to produce annual row crops as well as establishing high-value perennials such as berries. I am interested in producing value-added products such as jams, sauces, and crafting supplies.
