Past and present farming experience:

I have been farming for 12 years now, 10 of which have been in Maine. These years have included managing a 120 acre educational farm with diversified vegetable and livestock, managing a certified organic vegetable CSA farm, and currently running my small flower farm of Dandy Ram Farm on leased acreage in Monroe. I am experienced operating machinery, installing farm infrastructure including greenhouses, building soil sustainably, marketing products, business planning, and managing many crops and livestock. I have participated in the apprenticeship program as well as the Journeyperson program through MOFGA.

Here is a summary of the vision for my farming future and/or business plan:

Dandy Ram Farm is a sustainable farm in Monroe that grows fresh and dried flowers, and makes evergreen wreaths. Flowers are sold through a weekly flower share, farm stand sales, wholesale, and shipped sales around the country. Dandy Ram Farm also produces commercial seed crops. The farm is currently based in Monroe on leased land. In 2021, DRF is looking to transition to long term land. The farm is seeking around 10 acres, with at least 5 acres open, with a modest house and room for outbuildings in Waldo county. The goal is to find a lease to own or standard sale option from a farmer or homesteader who wants to pass their farm to the next generation. Your land would be cared for by a farmer with 12 years of experience, eager to expand his business.

Dandy Ram Farm grows flowers, seed crops and makes wreaths. The farm’s products are sold through a CSA, farmstand, mail order and wholesale. Currently based in Monroe on leased land, DRF is looking for long-term land to support current crops and future growth. An ideal location would be in Waldo County with 10 acres, 5 acres open with a modest house and outbuildings or acreage enough to build. The farm would benefit from being in a private setting near Monroe, Belfast, and Rockland. If you are a farmer or homesteader looking for the next generation to steward your land, please be in touch! Your land would be cared for by a farmer with 12 years of experience, connected to the community and eager to expand Dandy Ram Farm.
