Past and present farming experience:

Henry Sweets spent the past 7 years as the founder and manager of
North Brooklyn Farms, an urban farm and event space  in Brooklyn, NY.
Denise DeSpirito has a background in medicinal plant production at
Avena Botanicals and Farmacy Herbs among others and has spent the past
four seasons managing the gardens at Merryspring Nature Center in
Camden, ME as well as privately landscaping, growing herbs, and running a
small seedling business. Our future farm vision not only encompasses
deeping our own connection to and stewardship of a piece of land, but
bringing others into that connection as well. We want to see more
accessibility to spaces that were once private, welcoming people to
engage with growing produce and medicinal plants as well as the
experience of being nourished and revived by nature in general. Our
collective experience working in spaces that are based in social
engagement has endowed us with the skills to create a place that has
these elements rooted in education, community dinners and possible overnight stays. We
are looking to purchase, or an agreement for semi-long term to long term land so we can
plant trees and grow perennials, and we are open to a variety of options-
our ideal is an old campground with some open cleared land!
Currently we are located in Hope, ME and are most interested in the
midcoast area.
