Past and present farming experience:

I have been working on various farm types for my entire life. I have experience with horses, goats, sheep, pigs, cows, poultry, rabbits, and organic mixed vegetables. I attended the University of Maine in Orono for Sustainable Agriculture, where I ran the Black Bear Food Guild for one season, with one other female. We implemented several of my ideas for the farm, which helped it to make a large profit for the first time in it's existence. I did not finish my degree at UMO for various reasons, some which were out of my control, but I gained a lot of information while there. I have since been growing a small farm in Exeter, Maine. I grow mixed vegetables for a market and I also do duck and chicken eggs. I also have two horses that are pets, but also as grounds keepers, and manure compost suppliers. I have outgrown my current location, which I am currently renting, and would like to move to a larger piece of land where I can expand my operation and eventually go full time.

Here is a summary of the vision for my farming future and/or business plan:

I am in the process of writing one. My goal is to have a full time farm from mixed vegetables and egg production, using sustainable practices. I would like to have one or two greenhouses/high tunnels for season extension and warm weather crops, and growing on a high rotation on 1-2 acres. The poultry would be on rotation after the horses on pasture.
