Past and present farming experience:

We are a husband and wife medical cannabis cultivators- stuck in limbo by Maine local municipalities general reluctance to embrace the fastest growing job producer in the world- cannabis. We have 15 years experience cultivating cannabis from seed to finished, cured harvest. We are looking for a farm to grow a Tier IV Recreational Cannabis Cultivation Facility, totaling 20,000 square feet of plant canopy. This translates to somewhere around 1000 plants. We grow in small raised beds and provide all material components of the farm ourselves, including the boxes and dirt. We are willing to pay a monthly rent or include the farm owners on a higher payout after harvest or even a flat out purchase. The caveat here is that of 400 municipalities statewide, only a handful have opted into allowing cannabis cultivation. We can't initiate the cultivation license request in a community we don't live in and can't go buying land in a community that won't commit to opting in. Our own home town is refusing outdoor growing (can you even imagine that?- this is the driver of our exodus from Windham) We are trying to stay within a commutable distance from Portland so I can keep my day work until harvest time and hire help for the assistance needed farming.

Here is a summary of the vision for my farming future and/or business plan:

The Organic Cannabis Company is a recreational cannabis cultivation company seeking further expansion in the brand new Maine market. We are lifelong Mainers advantageously positioned to expand and become one of just a few full scale cultivation faculties in the entire state- especially in this first year of operations (the licensing process was just finalized on Dec 5th, 2019)
We grow the highest quality outdoor cannabis possible in a state blessed with a unique grow environment. Maine gets cold at just the right time of the flowering process to bring out some amazing cannabis characteristics. We have strains that take advantage of this: and as a pot snob I can tell you that the day will come when Maine herb is a well regarded international commodity. I have all metrics (including video and graphic documentation) of our cultivation process that leads to yields of pounds per plant. Maine has a wide range of quality farmland and an economic environment that lends well to cost effective cannabis production.
We intend to grow as large a crop as budget will allow and wholesale that crop to the retail market as per state law. Eventually, we will open stores for full vertical operations- but for now- we have perfected the low cost, outdoor grow and the only thing keeping me from growing literal tons of top notch cannabis is a place to do it. We are funded enough for a Tier IV license (the largest) and look forward to being a part of the inaugural Maine commercial cannabis crop.
When it comes right down to it, we are two life long (late 40's) blue collar workers that have figured out a possible way to get into the ground floor of the cannabis industry. We need a property upon which to do that (or we will have to stay medical another year to prepare even further for a solo operation) and are more than happy to share in the wealth of the crop as well as teach all we have uncovered about commercial sized cultivation of a product laden with volatile oily terpenes that we know how to save and enhance. It's the difference between the good stuff and the junk and we have it down pat. I hope this is a projects that interests you. Lets talk!!
