Past and present farming experience:

Michael and I have owned/operated The Farm at Mckenney Rd for the past three years after learning to farm at Farmer Kev's Organics in Gardiner. We farm organically with minimal machinery and are committed to soil health and longevity. We call ourselves "culinary focused farmers" because cooking and eating is at the center of what we do. Every summer we run a Sunday Supper Club where members come to the farm for a six course meal made from ingredients grown on the property. Guests are served field side at a 16 seat reclaimed wood farm table-Michael has worked as a chef for years prior to us farming and we have really enjoyed bringing farming and food service together. We are currently looking for a new spot in the Biddeford/Saco area. We need very little infrastructure to get started so are interested in land with or without a house. Here is a summary of the vision for my farming future and/or business plan:

We will continue to grow mixed vegetables for our wholesale accounts and our Sunday Supper Club. We will be adding new wholesale accounts, expanding our maple syrup production (if new property is suited), and expanding our Supper Club (also if property is suited). Eventually, we plan to operate year-round with the use of high tunnels. We have one 96x30 and were just approved for two additional through NRCS.
