I attended NCAHS in Walpole, Mass graduating in 1982. While I was there I worked a summer on the schools farm, which encompassed working in the Dairy barn, with the beef and swine and sheep sides of the house too. I also worked at Powisett Farm in Dover, Mass (now closed) during my senior year and after graduation. I then work as a heavy equipment operator for Landis Excavation Company in Hanover, Mass. In 1987 I became a Police Officer in York, Maine and am still presently doing that. Throughout my tenure there I have continued to operate heavy equipment part time. In 2004 through 2009 I owned and operated High Pine Organic Gardens. I was able to manage this on a part time basis along with my "day job". I raised vegetables, and free range turkeys, selling them directly to consumers from my house as well as farmers markets and to restaurants. I stopped due to time restraints of working full time job and raising a family. Deciding to rededicate myself to both which had suffered under the ever increasing time obligations of my farming enterprise.

Sounds a bit cliché, as a child I had 2 dreams. To be a Cop, and to be a farmer. I have achieved the first one and now strive for the second. I am grateful to have been in a profession that affords retirement early enough to now go on and attain my other passion. I have had the opportunity to get back to the soil and grow and market directly to the public. The experience of bringing healthy delicious farm fresh products directly to consumers was very rewarding. I discovered a very spiritual connection to healthy soil, healthy products from that soil. My wife, however not from a farming background has seen that connection in me and shares that passion as we move forward. We are looking for an opportunity to produce organic, grass fed meat and dairy products, as well as fruits and vegetables and directly market them. We also strive to expand on that by creating an experience for the consumers through agritourism increasing the consumers awareness and importance of local agriculture. I realize we lack knowledge and experience right now. A transitional arrangement of us working towards ownership and gaining that experience and knowledge would be ideal.
