Here is a summary of the vision for my farming future and/or business plan:

Our focus will be on vegetable production. We plan to start out with about an acre of organic mixed vegetables and work our way up to about 5 acres down the line. We are aiming to keep our operation small. We'd like to raise about 100-150 laying hens for egg production as well. We plan to grow less than 1/2 an acre of cut flowers for farmers market sales. We'd plan to primarily market our vegetables, eggs and flowers at farmer's markets, through a CSA program, and to local restaurants. Our main goal is to feed our immediate community and create a gathering place for people in our community to explore where their food comes from, while creating a self sustainable, rewarding and enriching life for ourselves and our family.
