I don't have much farming experience as I have never really lived on a farm. Besides visiting Mennonite friends when I was a teen living in Pennsylvania for a couple of weeks every summer and helping them with their dairy farm or bailing hay I don't have much experience. My partner Melyssa grew up in the Camden Hills area and has always wanted to have a farm. I am an electrical engineer and love all things engineering related. Melyssa is a laboratory scientist and has a passion for the outdoors.

I do not have a formal business plan yet written but I can create one if needed. We currently live in Augusta and want to be able to be in the Eastern area of Augusta (China, Jefferson, Albion, Pittston, etc). Our goal is to have a farm where we can raise goats and sheep for meat, milk, and milk byproducts. We would also have several cows for beef and of course a couple of horses because Melyssa loves horses. The rest of the land would be used for the farming of feed for these animals and possibly market vegetables if there is enough land. We are more inclined to make a farm out of a woodlot than to buy an existing farm, but if an existing farm fit our needs and desires then we would proceed. We have four children between us and we would like to have grow up on a farm. We are looking for larger acreages, 50 acres to 100 acres, as long as we can afford it. Cost will always be the most limiting factor.
