Beautiful, scenic views in the Ellis river valley nestled against Mt Dimmock. Land is a mixture of pasture and tillable acres along with a wooded hillside with impressive rock cliffs. The mountain has several different hard and soft woods and natural springs on it. Quartz and tourmaline have been found in different pockets on this hillside.
We have put up many pastures with secure fencing that can be used for various livestock. Original barn built in 1815 has had some structural renovation done to it and a brand new "pig" barn was built last year. The new barn has six stalls (with adjustable pen walls) and a concrete floor and metal roof- can be used for many different types of livestock. Doors on one side open individually to outside runs/pens. The greenhouse was erected in 2014 and is 30x70. There are two chicken coops, one smaller and older - and one larger built in 2015. We had thoughts of turning the attached car garage into a farm store. The garage has cement floors and the driveway has ample parking space. The road (not busy to usual traffic) sees lots of summer traffic to visitors heading to the neighboring lake.
Rural area with much scenery and small ideallic towns, but also 15 minutes to Bethel and Sunday River ski resort. We currently raise cattle, pigs, sheep, alpacas, poultry and grow various produce here. There is a wonderful local foods community in Bethel/Greenwood with farmer's markets and an online buying club. This property would be great as either a small (but high yielding) farm or a nice homestead- many possibilities with this land (and a chance to own your own mountain!)
1820s farmhouse with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, soapstone wood stove on first floor and oil heat (baseboard) throughout house. Recently remodeled kitchen and ceiling fans in every room.
Priced at $285,000
