Farm ID 3120

    Farm ID 3120
Property Description:

When we bought the farm the land was overgrown with shrubs and trees. We began clearing by using chainsaws, tractors, hogs and chickens (and excavators!) and uncovering the old stonewalls which lines the property . Much of what we cleared is still waiting to be turned into pasture.

We built a 54'x48' timber framed barn in 2010 out of wood we harvested on our property. A work shop, chicken coop and hay lofts are all built in to barn. Poured slab basement. Well drilled in basement with very high pressure and over 100 gallons a minute.

We also built a 14'x28' high posted storage barn by the road with open front. You can easily drive tractors right in! Above is a year round living space with two bedrooms and a central room with mini kitchen. It has electricity but no running water.

There are two greenhouses (27'x96' and 30'x72'). We built a commercial kitchen (20'x30') with a slab floor with built in drainage. Three insulated walk-in spaces currently without cooling units (8'x20', 8'x8', 14'x14') and an on-demand hot water heater. Easy access to driveway and road. Outdoor shower stall attached.

Established perennial herb and flower gardens, over 80, approx. 10 year old, mulched high bush blueberry plants on the hillside.

This land would be well suited to berry production, goats, cheese making, raising hogs, greenhouse production, homesteading and more! We would love to see someone pick up where we are leaving off.
Extras: Small farm pond we dug can be used for irrigation, Abundant with wild elderberry, Very supportive farming community (young and old) in Whitefield, Close to the Sheepscot General Store, Centrally located to many towns-Augusta, Gardiner, Hallowell, Damariscotta, Wiscasset, Rockland.

We have outgrown this farm but it is a beautiful piece of property with lots of potential!

The two bedroom, one bath cape was built in 1801 with an ell added in 1820. When we bought it it was desperately in need of updates but in otherwise good shape. We did a kitchen remodel which includes soapstone counters, stainless appliances and a large stainless steel sink. There is a mudroom attached to the kitchen. The house has two wood stoves and a high efficiency propane furnace that is almost brand new. All windows have been replaced. The house has a bosch on-demand hot water heater. Second floor laundry. Basement is dirt floor but dry with outside and inside entry.

Priced at $325,000
