We started the farm in 2001, and we had a sugarhouse built by the vocational center. We installed sap lines and started selling syrup in 2002. People have really enjoyed the place, and we have had many kids help us out over the years. We did a cut to get rid of the "junk" trees in 2005 and since then the maples have been growing rapidly. We worked our way up to 325 taps. There is a possibility of over 500 at least. The 12x40 sugarhouse was built in 2001/2002 and has a professionally installed electrical system, new electric stove for finishing, a Mason flat filter, concrete floor with drain, green metal roof with cupola, and sap line that comes right to the sugarhouse. It has a warm room in front with a wood stove. It works well as a sales area, place to eat, etc. It is very nice with board and batten siding and has been the subject of many paintings, prints and a youtube movie entitled Music of the Sugarbush on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISbkO-NKA9o&nohtml5=False
