    Farm ID 2397
Property Description:

Construction started in 1869 on this classic connected Maine farmhouse. We are currently using 4 bedrooms. There are 2 baths, and a very comfortable living room and den with hardwood floors. The kitchen has an antique wood cook stove as well as a propane stove and other modern appliances. There is a wood stove in the dining room which is our main source of heat, a pellet stove in the living room, and an oil-fired central forced hot air furnace. We have insulated the attic and had insulation blown into the walls. The front porch was recently refinished in knotty pine. A new metal roof went on the barn last year and many of the other roofs have been recently shingled. You can go from the kitchen to the barn in a blizzard and never have to go outside. We have an outdoor cooking area with a home-made brick oven and smoker combination, and an outdoor eating area which is under a park-style pavilion, complete with a fire ring. The farm is currently set up for small livestock production, but could easily be converted to a beef or horse operation. There is one 3-acre pasture that is divided into four parts with two shelters for some rotational grazing. There is another small pasture that has direct access to the barn and has a small stock pond. The barn has two box stalls that have an attached outdoor paddock. Another stall in the barn with access to the pasture is set up with a lambing pen. The barn also has a chicken coop and there is a movable chicken coop in the large pasture. Several apple trees, pear trees and cherry trees grow around the farm . With proper management, we have gotten as much as 1200 bales from the hay field. Separate from the barn, we have a 20-foot wide by 25-foot long shed for hay storage. A garden plot provides enough vegetables to support our family for a good portion of the year.

Priced at $189,900
