Past and present farming experience:

We have a combined 15 years experience in mixed vegetable production, mostly at the 7-12 acre size, and are searching for the right land opportunity for our own fledgling business. For the past 2 years we've been operating our own small market vegetable business while working for another farmer growing specialty field crops. We have experience marketing produce through CSAs, farmers markets, farm stands, and direct wholesale, and have a solid fleet of our own equipment (tractors, implements, propagation etc.) Currently, we lease land from our employer, and sell mostly direct to customer. Our ideal land situation includes space for 4-10 acres of rotated vegetable production, AND/OR a much larger parcel (about 15-20 acres, up to 40+) for specialty field crops (heirloom beans, grain, and corn). We're looking to remain close to our current base (southern York county) to continue growing our own enterprise and our employer's bean and grain operation.
