Past and present farming experience:

Started Living Earth Farm in 2007. Certified organic in 2009. Focused on greens in high tunnels. Moved into organic fruit production (apples, peaches, blueberries, table grapes, plums, pawpaw, raspberries. Developed mini high tunnel system for fruit trees to produce high quality fruit without the use of pesticides, herbicides or fungicides. All of our crops were grown under row covers or tunnels. I am also a Master Gardener and worked as a Program Coordinator for UNH Cooperative Extension (helped to manage our Education Center). On the Board of NOFA-NH.

Here is a summary of the vision for my farming future and/or business plan:

Yes: 3 acres of intensively managed fruit trees (apple, peach, plum) under my mini high tunnel system, 1/2 half acre of blueberries and 1/2 half acre of brambles under mini high tunnels, 1/4 acre of strawberries under mini high tunnels. 1 acre of greens and mixed vegetables under row covers and high tunnels. I already have a marketing plan in place. We also plan on converting a portion of any housing into rental property and will do AirB&B for additional income. I also have created an organic garden workshop series for those who want to learn organic gardening methods.

The property we buy needs to be within 40 minutes of the Portland Airport or an hour and 20 minutes of Logan Airport. Mary travels extensively for business.
