Past and present farming experience:

I began farming through WWOOF in 2004 and have continued seeking apprenticeships in organic and biodynamic farming since then. I've farmed in Arkansas, California, Texas, Kentucky, and all around Maine. I've mostly grown vegetables and medicinal herbs, with a full season experience in a tomato seedling nursery. I've have experience in raising and butchering chickens, organic fertilizing, transplanting, harvesting, driving tractors, starting seeds, maintaining a greenhouse, washing vegetables, running machinery, pest control and selling at farmer's markets.

Two of my business partners are currently in school at SMCC for horticulture.

Here is a summary of the vision for my farming future and/or business plan:

We are starting an entrepreneurship course with New Ventures Maine in March, which will walk us through writing an entire business plan in 12 weeks. For now, our vision and goal is to have a biodynamic farm that sustains us and eventually makes profit by selling vegetables and herbs to local restaurants and small markets. We want to be cooperatively owned and operated, and within one hour of Portland and a half hour or less from Lewiston.
